For Candidates

Working with us

2C Recruitment will endeavour to offer our candidates a professional and ethical service. We will do our best to promote you and provide appropriate feedback on job opportunities.

One of the main ways to achieve this is through open and honest communication.

This goes both ways, in return we expect our candidates to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times during the engagement process.

What to expect

Before contacting candidates 2C recruitment will do their best to qualify all the relevant details regarding the vacancy. This will include location, work hours, salary & benefits. At 2C we don’t like working on vague possibilities and will never knowingly waste your time.

Our initial contact will generally be through phone, email or social media.

At the initial stage, we will establish your current situation and whether you are open to discussing a possible career move in confidence. If we catch you at a bad time, we will arrange to call back at a time which suits you.

Once we have established your availability, we will then discuss the skill set the role requires. Assuming you are suitable for the job and the job is suitable for you, the next stage is CV and compliance documents. We are happy to help with your CV if required and will advise on how best to get a copy of your identification and proof of address to us. We will never ask you to send original documents.

We will then submit your CV and a summary of why we think you are right for the job. At 2C we don’t throw hundreds of CV’s at a role hoping one sticks, that’s not our style. If your CV is in front of our client then you have an excellent chance of moving onto the next stage.

That next stage is the interview, we will arrange this for a time that is mutually acceptable for both parties.

Before your interview, we will talk at length to ensure you have the best possible chance of success.

Following the interview we will call you for feedback, did you enjoy the interview? how do you think it went? would you accept if offered?

After we have discussed your interview with our client we will call to hopefully make you a formal offer. If you are not successful, we will provide as much constructive feedback as possible.

If you get the job we will liaise with you and the client regarding contract offer and start date.

We will then keep in touch with you during your notice period and give you a quick call on your first day.

Following your start, we like to keep in touch just to make sure its all going well.

Advice for jobseekers

Congratulations…. being selected for an interview means you are on the road to potential success! To have achieved an interview shortlist means you have been chosen ahead of what may have been a large number of other job seekers. Every employer will have a different approach to the interview process.

We will provide you with a brief. This may include approximate interview duration, participants, whether it will include competency based testing, 2nd or 3rd interviews and most importantly is there a key attribute this employer seeks. It may be useful to talk to a friend or relative for any useful tips … they may see something in you that will help!

1

Research

Review the Job Description you have been given. Do some online research and find out more about the company, its people, services or products. Prepare a list of questions you would like more information about.
2

Your CV

Review your own CV so you can be prepared for any questions the employer may ask.
3

How do you look?

Different industries and environments will have a bearing on what is generally acceptable. Overall be clean and smart and whatever the circumstances, first impressions count.
4

Arrive on time

Plan your route, where to park etc. Being 10 minutes early is fine, 10 minutes late is not!
5

The start

A pleasant and personalised greeting, a smile and a firm handshake will help set the scene.
6

The middle

Your chance to demonstrate why YOU are the best choice. Be positive and emphasize your strengths. Don’t lie and listen carefully to ensure you can give an appropriate answer. Don’t be afraid of asking questions, this interview is a two-way process.
7

The end

Make sure you have all the information you need and ask if they do. If you are interested then make sure they know you are and ask what happens next!
8

Next steps

If it’s a yes then well done! but sensibly if you are in work then don’t resign until you have written confirmation of a job offer and the terms are acceptable and as discussed. If it’s a no, then positively find out the reasons why so you can use the experience to good effect next time.

If you are contracting through 2C recruitment you will be required to have your own limited company or use an Umbrella company.

We recommend Simplicity Umbrella.

The Simplicity Umbrella (PAYE) solution provides compliant employment for temporary contractors and is also ideal for PSC’s who will be caught under the new off-payroll rules set to come into effect in April 2021.

Benefits to you include:

  • Full employment rights including; holiday pay, maternity pay, statutory sick pay etc.
  • Wide ranging employee benefits.
  • SMS notification of when paid.
  • Covered by significant business insurance cover.
  • Continuous employment across multiple contracts.
  • Pension contributions into a workplace pension.

Brian and the team at 2C Recruitment would be an asset to any business looking to work with a recruitment firm whose overriding desire is to get the best candidate for their client.

People & Culture – Industrial IT Solutions

I have worked with Brian at 2C recruitment on a number of staffing projects across the UK. He is an excellent recruiter who takes his time to understand the requirement and has always provided quality candidates within our budgets and time frames.

Head of People – Technology Business

Fantastic experience as a candidate of Brian's...Brian proactively approached me about an opportunity working for what turned out to be one of the Times Top 100 small companies to work for.... I ended accepting a role which fits like a glove, at a company I can really see myself building a career in. I couldn't have had a better experience, and would recommend Brian & 2C to anyone seeking a new role or change in path.

Account Manager – Industrial IT Solutions

Lawrence has a clear ability to network and identify opportunity but his key strength is in bringing both together. An extremely proficient recruiter who is keen to adopt innovative methods to set himself apart from the rest and ensure he gets the best outcome for all. Committed and driven to deliver.

HR Director Multi Utility Company

In my dealings with Brian at 2C Recruitment I was impressed with the level and quality of communication during the whole engagement process. I would happily refer Brian to my professional network.

Multi Utility Business Development Manager

Lawrence has played a key part in me settling into my new role quickly. In the interview stage, he was friendly and clear about what was happening and was always helping put my mind at ease. He frequently checks up to see how new starts are settling in, and if there is anything else that is required to make life a bit easier while still adjusting to the company.

Multi Utility Designer

Lawrence is a conscientious individual who is able to engage with his clients in a professional but friendly and personal manner. He is a recruitment specialist who will identify your skills and offer guidance and support to ensure that you gain employment. In terms of liaison and customer service, Lawrence is second to none and I would highly recommend him.

Contact Centre Case Manager

Lawrence is passionate with his work and he goes out of his way to get the job done. He is dedicated to providing and implementing the best service to his clients and colleagues. No job is too small for Lawrence and his capabilities, he is one committed individual to his job and his duties to completely fulfil to the end. I have no reservations of endorsing Lawrence in any position he is in or his capabilities to get the task done.

Customer Service Advisor

I honestly have not come across a recruitment agency so professional, efficient and solely care about you. Brian was incredibly helpful, there for you and responded so fast. I had an experience before where I had to wait ages after calling numerous times to hear back from a recruiter but Brian always made time to answer questions or affirm any confusions. Even the company I was introduced through him said how they always trusted employees 2C sent their way. Professional, friendly and incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for helping me find a job with great development opportunities!! 🙂
